2 Degrees of Separation
Wed 22, Thu 23 & Sat 25 Nov
Abdi Aden fled war torn Somalia as a teenager, and made a perilous solo journey via Kenya and Romania to arrive in Australia and seek asylum at 17 years of age. Abdi has written an uplifting and inspiring book about his survival as a refugee, Shining: The Story of a Lucky Man.
Justine Sless grew up in North East England and migrated to Australia. Only recently Justine found out that her mother’s family had perished in the holocaust, in response Justine created the Melbourne Jewish Comedy Festival. Justine is a writer and comedian and a Masters student at La Trobe University.
For 3 nights only two friends who met over a decade ago at Victoria University where they both got the same degree in community development, tell their stories.
Heartfelt, funny and inspiring.
