It's time for the Australian public to learn the truth. Girt is not just a weird word in our National Anthem; SHE is this country's greatest swimming coach, letting a documentary crew into her world for the first time!
Follow the outrageous and dedicated Girt, her ever-supportive husband Birt and their anxious adult daughter Joy on their day-to-day routines of the legendary - yet unorthodox - Girt by Sea swimming school. But when the powerful head of the local parent's council threatens the school with permanent closure, Girt must go to even weirder lengths than usual to save everything she's worked for.
From blackmailing lawyers to stalking past students, freestyling past E-Coli outbreaks and diving over red tape, Girt By Sea is a mockumentary whirlwind championing family, community, and the subtle art of an aqua aerobic dance routine.
