I grew up off-grid in rural Tasmania without a fridge and I’ve decided to make it my personality.
My mum built our house out of firewood and churns her own butter. My dad regularly slept in a cave and refused to step inside a Woolworths for over twenty years; and I thought that was all totally normal.
Without internet, social media, or television, I missed every pop-cultural moment until about 2017, and even though I live in Melbourne now, I still haven’t figured my way around the television remote but it feels too late to ask.
