A few things that happened on the way to now
Thu 28 Apr to Sat 7 May
A one act play that follows Annie's love story as she comedically, beautifully and tragically negotiates the possibility of being pregnant for the second time in her life.
How does she reconcile her own narrative when events pre 'me too' are now, rather confrontingly, re-contextualised as definitely not okay?
In comparing events that happened 'on the way to now' to her current situation, Annie articulates how Freddie, her partner, truly loves her for all that she is; something she finds 'fucking terrifying'.
For Annie, ‘movies, tv shows, CDs and Hillary fucking Duff’ all seem to have conspired to normalise toxic love stories and destroy every beautiful perception of love she ever had but maybe, she realises, just maybe, love isn’t meant to hurt. Maybe it’s meant to feel good after all.
