Art, War, and Other Catastrophes
Mon 7 to Sat 12 July at 8:30pm

7 Melbourne Inner suburbs creatives pissed off with cuts to Arts Funding are forced to review the situation as they grapple with genocide brought daily into their lounge rooms just before dinner time. But when push comes to shove 7 entitled characters in “Art, War and Other Catastrophes” are all more traumatized by Arts Funding Cuts then by Men made Global Catastrophes and play at War Games not so different to those played by the Big Bad Guys OUT THERE on the world stage.
Meanwhile the elephant in the room keeps the captive audience hostage and in stitches while firing some loaded questions:
Are all men ego wired warmongers? Do women have an ego in their pants? Is War a Mega Meta Whore? Is Art A Tart? Do we have to keep artists hungry? And last but not the least: 'Will the good guy win, will the good guy get the girl and make art?’
“If you love cabaret, you must see this provocative show and be inspired by how rebellious and free-souled it sounds…. Nobody else in Melbourne writes music quite like this, as far as I know” - Cameron Woodhead The Age
“All the songs and the music are world class with that smoky, jagged, disturbing Weimar feel…’ - Stage Whispers Michael Brindley
“Uncensored, absurd, real and raw political 'no excuses' theatre - which is often hard to find in Melbourne” - Mistress of Culture Vultures Weekend Notes
