Ever been told you’re hot? Yes, slay, work the runway, it’s giving model, you own the world. Ever been told you’re actually kinda hot? Less slay, what was wrong before, why you gotta put extras on it like that?

Actually Kinda Hot is about the biggest compliment you can hope for when you’re just too chubby to be hot.. without the late realisation and the “kinda” caveat.

The show is built around one central story, crossing state borders to go on a date in Sydney because the dating app was accidentally set to the wrong location.

This story is threaded throughout the show, with detours that include the delight in watching someone struggle to take off a pair of boots, eating hours-old fast food on a plane, Judge Judy, Judy Dench and understanding the mechanics of a flooded engine (to name a few). These stories weave together to explore the central theme of struggling to see the hot through the chub.
