Day/Night

‘When you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.’

You know that feeling you get when you wake up each day? When you look over to your alarm and think maybe it would be easier to drive off into the sunset in a second-hand car with the world’s cheapest insurance? Or when you realise that your retirement plan is to win the lottery?

That’s right. We’re talking about work.

Day/Night is a collection of monologues exploring the highs and lows of late-stage capitalism. Inspired by the living experience of two young poetic wage workers, one behind a desk, the other behind a bar. It’s an earnest reflection on what makes us tick, a brooding meditation on the reasons we stay, and a hopeful statement of why we haven’t left yet.

Emerging theatremakers, Lilian Hudson and Fergus Black, bring you their very first collaboration. A series of short, eclectic pieces twisting the form until it cracks. Playing with genre, tone, and style to get you thinking about the thing you’re almost always thinking about. Your Job!
